STATEMENT OF DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
My study of architecture has always been driven by the experience of the user, understanding that design does not limit itself to specific typologies or elite users. I feel that architecture has the task of engaging the user to see his or her world through a different lens, allowing new insights to broadening their knowledge base of what surrounds them. This means architectural design must go beyond the basics of style, surface aesthetic and intellectual immersion; it must be concerned with the reality of making accessible a set of experiences to the everyday. Our bodies are the gateway through which we know the world, and architecture is the interface that allows us to participate. This is why design must go far beyond the singular object; architecture represents specific cultures based in time and place relating the information of our time to future visitors. It is my focus to incorporate these elements while blending my life experiences and passion into each project to ensure the unique creative experiential possibilities to be related in each project.
